I just started using Revit 2012 with Windows 8. It seems to work fine for the most part. Except my Ribbon is acting kind of strange. I keep having to cycle through all the options when ever I want to modify an Item I have selected. For example if I have a dimension string selected and I want to edit the witness line I have to click on the tiny pulldown arrow and cycle it through all the options for the actual "edit witness line" button to show up. I have to do this with any item. I have to cycle through to see all the options that are available. Is there a setting i'm missing somewhere or is this a Bug?
Thanks.

You need to install this fix. The problem is due to Windows 8 needing .NET 4.5 and that is incompatible with the ribbon implementation of Revit 2012 which was coded for .NET 4.0

get the 2013 revit update from the autodesk site. I think there are 3. I think you may have to start at 1 and work up to 3. there is also a few updates for 2014.

I think that worked. It let me instal Updates 1 and 2. But the 3rd one wouldn't work. But the ribbon appears to be working. Thanks.
