I have 5 consultant links in my model: S,M,E,P and security. We have five users on the Revit server. Every time the users open their local, all the links are unloaded. I can't figure out why this is happening...... Any ideas?

Are you creating a new local file from the central model each time?

Are the links set to relative or absolute and all in one folder?

Is this a 2013 issue?

Unloading a link while working in a local file is treated as a global change when you use synchronize with central. This means one user that unloads a link and uses a SwC will cause everyone to have them unloaded when they Reload Latest or use SwC.

Reloading a link conversely is treated as a local change so it does not propagate to other users during a Reload Latest or SwC. The only way to "reset" this is to kick people out of the project, open the central file and reload them. Alternatively you can ask everyone to reload the links in their local file and SwC.

This is why many people create individual worksets for each linked model. Closing a workset achieves the same result as unloading a link but it is regarded as a local change so it does not affect others.
