I should be able to do this in Revit. I want to add to my first selection by selecting all instances of another sort of element. Doesn't that seem logical? I was asked to revise 50 soffits this morning. I'd have the job done in no time if i could create compound selections in this manner. Select the ceiling type, add the wall type that intersects with it, add the lights, isolate, adjust, done. Haven't messed around with 2014 too much yet, but I hope this is possible by 2015. thanks for listening.

You can do that with Saved Selection Sets.

I use saved selections often. It would be nice to have that work on the fly though. no saving necessary, no opening up menus, no searching long lists of saved selections. i just think it would be an easy way to speed up everyone's workflow
