I am looking for a dynamic block for a roll-up type garage door. The target door cavity is 6mx6m. Even suggestions of where I might download one will be appreciated.

Do you want the door to roll up and down?
How detailed does it need to be?
Have you tried to create one?

No, it doesn't have to roll up and down - although one that did would be a bonus:).
I just want to be able to insert a plan view, front elevation, or side elevation at adjustable width.
(I work in ISO Metric.)

Sadly, trying to create one is a while off along my learning curve. One day ...

Do you have the different views in separate static blocks now?

Yea, post some examples.
Vis States would be the option noted above.

I can't find anything related to a roll-up door.
Don't people use them in the USA?

Opie and CLShade are offering to help you create your own, with your own current content. Why not post what you've started with so they can help you get from point A to point B?

This is the closest I have.
Click on the Vis state and the Roll up is at the bottom of the list

Thanks Charles.
I downloaded the drawing and (I think) I installed it where the other Dynamic Block Drawings go. Windows Explorer shows it in place, but AC14 does not seem to recognize it.

I have it at C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\Sample\en-us\Dynamic Blocks

Is there some installation process?

Is that Folder in the Support File Search Path for your install of AutoCAD?

Is that Folder in the Support File Search Path for your install of AutoCAD?

That particular path does not appear in the Options Dialog, yet the Dynamic Blocks show up. I went looking deeper and deeper and eventually found the dynamic blocks are also at

c:\autodesk\AutoCAD_2014_English_Win_64bit_dlm\x64\en-us\acad\Acad\Program Files\Root\Sample\en-us\Dynamic Blocks

(How about that for a mouthful!) Now - That path is not in the Options Dialog either, but when I copied your file into that folder it came up in Design Center. This behaviour might be hard-wired somehow into the Student Version of AutoCAD 2014 I am using, but it does strike me as unusual. However, now I know where it is.

Unfortunately, I can't do anything with it. Under the DWG folder, under Blocks, I find OHD. It does not drag and drop onto the drawing area as other blocks do.
How do I use it?

Can you save the File to your C drive and just open it normally in CAD?

There is nothing special about where it is stored so the Path really should not be an issue.
INSERT, Browse..., then choose the file, OK.

Hi Charles
I go to "Insert --> Block" and get this (http://rickduley.webs.com/Inserting Block.jpg)
I accept that and I get returned to the drawing, select a start point, select an endpoint, and nothing happens.

It should be OK and then one click. Works fine here
Any other Block an issue to Insert?

Any other Block an issue to Insert?

I have never tried to insert another Block except from Design Center. (Now I can't get this thing out of Itallic!) With your Garage Door block I get to this stage (http://rickduley.webs.com/Design_Centre.jpg)and no further.

I don't know. Unless someone else comes along and gives it a whirl on their system we will have one that works and one that does not. No apparent reason either way.
Have I asked if you can Open the OHD DWG file normally?

Yes. The DWG file opens straight away, complete with handles and appearance options.

This problem may be something to do with my copy of AC14 being the student freebie. It appears to have some functionalities blocked.
No worries.

Thanks for your help and patience.

fyi -- there's no functional difference between the student and commercial versions -- just the educational version banner being displayed on any drwing that's been infected by a student drawing/version.
