I'm trying to find the best work flow for preparing revit views to export to 3ds max. One thing I'm reading is that I should apply all, (or most), of my materials in Revit before exporting?? Doesn't seem right to me but I'll read on.
If this is the case, how do I access the mental ray material library in Revit?
The materials that are now available are just the standard and architectural materials. I've searched hi and low for the mental ray materials in Revit to no avail.
Does anyone have anything to offer towards this workflow theory?
Thank You

Just make sure your materials are applied in Revit to the objects, you don't want to be applying materials to objects in Max. When you get to Max, you can change the revit material to a max material in Max material editor. Building design suite has a 'link revit' option, so no export FBX any more! It's better to make a camera in max, don't use Revit views!
