View Full Version : 2014 Color Scheme Not Visible Over Floor with Surface Pattern

I have a cold shell tenancy which has both an existing and a new slab. To denote the extent of the existing slab I have added a solid fill Surface Pattern, however, when I add a Color Scheme to the view, the floor's Surface Pattern overrides the Color Scheme. I have attached an image it illustrate my issue.

Any ideas on how I can show the Color Scheme over the Surface Pattern?

Will,

In the view properties, you should be able to set the Color Scheme Location to either Background or Foreground. Give that a shot, and let us know if that resolves your issue.

Hi Jeff,

I have tried setting the Color Scheme Location to Foreground with no luck. I have narrowed down the issue to be specifically about the solid fill Surface Pattern, because when I use any other pattern, or turn it off, the Color Scheme will display through. My theory is that Autodesk have programmed Revit this way so that walls assigned with Solid Fill, Coarse Scale Fill Patterns will display over top of the Color Scheme. But I really have no idea.

Hey, I had the same issue.
You're correct about the solid fill pattern.

I found out the same thing that when the material of the floors, walls, anything in the view has a 'solid' face pattern, it will hide the color of the room fill.
I have used 2 solutions for this.
1) you can change the material and erase the surface pattern 'solid'
2) You can choose the floor or wall that hides the room fill, choose: Override graphic view> by element> and make the surface patterns invisible for that view.
