My building section is not referenced.

I see that my building section is on the sheet but when I look on my plans and elevations, I see the reference bubble but it's not numbered. It's like it's not on the sheet but it is. what?

Are you sure you have right section on the sheet? Maybe on your plans you have two sections overlapping or very close to each other and only one (unreferenced) is visible, because the other one is set to a different discipline perhaps, or phase, or ‘Hide at scale courser than’ is incorrectly set, or simply it’s hidden.

In the properties of your section view check the parameter for "Hide at scales coarser than" Often times if the section was created at a finer scale, say 1/4, it will automatically set its value to that view. This then makes it so you cannot see it in a view coarser than 1/4, which would be 1/8, 1/16 etc. Hope this helps, its a shot in the dark, but I have seen it plenty of times. You can text it by editing your current view and temporarily changing it to something like 3/4"=1'-0".
