View Full Version : 2013 Over writing the level with text

We have a parapet which slopes with the roof line. In this situation with CAD, we would create the level "Upper Parapet" and under that where we would normally have an actual dimension, we would instead write "varies". I tried to do that in Revit with a level that does not have an associated plan and it won't let me. My assumption is that I'm trying to over write a dimension with a text. Does anyone know if this is possible? I can just go into each view and put a text block over the dimension, but would rather not use that work around if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Create a version of your Level Head Family that has static text in lieu of the Elevation Label. Then in the Project, you can create another Type of Level that uses that Family instead. Then all you have to do is change the Level's Type via the Type Selector.

Add a string of text with an opaque backgroud, and place it over the level tag.
