Sweeps does not go around curves?

I'm try to inserts some crown mouldings on arches but it doesnt seem to do it. Do sweeps work on curves? Curved walls.?

Sweeps do work on curved walls, you can use the wall sweep tool for that. For the arch, you could use an in-place sweep by selecting the 3D edges.
