distance command drag line color

Here's a fun one.

Using the DIstance command, and suddenly the color for the temporary marker line that indicates the vector from the first point picked has gone to a very dark shade of gray. Anyone have any idea where that is controlled?

Ok, this is just so much fun. tonite the aberration is gone, and the distance marker line shows up normally
