binding a link

I have a project where a designer did a small study in a unique file, with the main project loaded underneath as a link. Once the study was done, we removed the link making it a standalone file. The study was a section and it had dimensioned floor levels that were locked.

We linked the study into the main project and bound it. Everything looked right. When we wanted to change one of the floor levels, we found that moving one level moved them all. I remembered the locked dimensions, but when I looked for them, I couldn't find them anywhere.

How can I unlock my floor levels?

In an elevation or section view, when you select a floor level and Activate Dimensions, there should be a temporary dashed dimension string with a padlock.
