i have already set up design options in 2 option sets that each have numerous options in them. Now i need to create another option set and add options to it. i cannot figure out how to add those items from the main model already assigned to the old options to the desired new option set (and options). All my attempts end with "Idiot, this is already assigned to an option, start over" or with warnings about adding walls on top of walls and the conflicts i'm creating.

if you are looking to move the walls from option #1 in option set A to option #1 in option set C, the easiest way that I know of is to set your view to the option #1 in options set A and cut and paste into the new option set C. You will likely get the two walls in one place thing, but you should be able to ignore it without too much problem. You can then repeat this task for all options within option set A. Once that is compete, you should no longer have that warning about overlapping geometry. But you have to do it for every option.. Not the best solution, and maybe one you have tried already, but nothing else comes to mind. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Devin.
What i was really looking for was a way to transfer the information that was already assigned to design options to a new design option, and i may have discovered a way, i just don't know if it's the best way. To bore further, I'm working with an existing conditions linked in model to 2 other models, so the design options have their start in the existing model (for demolition) and the design options themselves live in the other models. i couldn't find a way to take the walls that were assigned to the already defined DOs and add them to the new DO's. Cut and paste resulted in warnings about walls on top of walls, and selecting the walls and trying to add them to another DO resulted in a message that i couldn't do that as they were already assigned.
In the end, i was able to select the walls in question and activate the DO view, then note the wall to be demolished in the New Construction phase. i don't know how else to do it, and it's not perfect, as i can't split the walls in question to the size i need for the DO demolition.
Any further insight greatly appreciated.

Update:
The way this has to be done is to copy and paste from the Main Model into the new and empty DO, the trick being that you have to paste to "Aligned with Current View", NOT "Same Place" as i was doing (which results in a warning). The other thing i noticed is that once things have been assigned to DO's, and you then make a new DO, those items assigned to other DO's won't appear in the new one at all. You have to go and paste them in from the main model. i guess this makes sense because the program obviously couldn't know about the DO not yet created, just be sure you paste "Aligned to View". More Design Option weirdness...
