joining adaptive panels

Hi,

I created a "Curtain Panel Pattern Based" family and loaded it into my project (included as an attachment for reference).

When I place the panel on my mass it won't remove the line between the panels.

view1 and view2 are what I get and view3 is what I want.

Could someone offer me a suggestion(s) to clean up the linework?

I don't believe you can. I think your only option is to use the Linework tool set to Invisible lines.

Greg is correct that you cannot join. However, you can create a panel that only has mullions on the top and one side. Then you'll have joints only at the nodes. Then you have to deal with the end condition (unless it wraps around). In that case, you could either create a different panel or add some visibility parameters to show the other mullions and change the type along the edges.

Center the profile on the reference line, so that the mullion of one panel is "merged" with the mullion of the adjacent panel, eliminating the seam. It is creating the seam because your profile is entirely within the area of the four reference lines of the pattern family.

This is a good solution for visualization in Revit, but you have overlapping geometry. So if you get serious about documentation using these panels, you're going to run into problems. Or if you are translating the Revit model to 3ds or another program for visualization. That said, I've used this exact solution very successfully on some projects through DD.
