Dragged State Labels

Does anyone know how to modify the leader in the dragged state label portion of Civil 3d? I will accept another solution to this problem if possible too.

When labeling the alignment/profile/section etc., when the labels get crowded I move the labels for readability. The problem is during the setup I only have straight line leader or spline leader... the spline won't work and the straight line gives me a horizontal line as part of the leader. Does anyone know how to remove the straight portion of that leader (see attached for what I am referring to).93604

The only way I know to remove the jog is to set the arrowhead size to 0. You can use a marker to replace the dot you are using now.
