Fellow Reviteers!!

I'm trying to create a 6"x24" herringbone hatch pattern in Revit but I'm having some difficulties. Revit has the herringbone 2x6 default ".pat" (see attached image) that I'm trying to follow along to create my 6x24 but seem not wrap my mind around it.
Can someone please help me decifer the coding I need for the 6x24 pattern? I will greatly appreciate it!

Try this http://mertens3d.com/tools/revit/2012/hatch22-2012/hatch22-2012-download-install.php
Great add-in that let you create almost any hatch pattern you need.

Thank you so much Hugh!! This worked perfect, however, I'd like to make the longer part of the tile, 24" instead of 18". (Please see attached image). I tried changing some numbers, making sure I wasn't changing the dash and space lengths, but to no avail. Do you change the shift code or the angle? Another help will be much appreciated as well.

Thanks again.

George

Oops. Try this instead

*6X24HERRINGBONE,6x24 herringbone pattern @ 45 degrees
;%TYPE=MODEL
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Pattern written by HatchKit v2.7 Hatch Pattern Editor

Thanks a ton Hugh!! This was a huge help!!
I'll have to contact you later for an in-depth understanding of hatch pattern coding.
It's quite interesting.
Again, you saved the day!! I really appreciate your efforts.

Although you've gotten a pattern for this, if you are interested, I found these two posts very helpful when learning to create my own hatch patterns:
http://revitmotion.blogspot.com/2010/05/custom-pattern-files.html
http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/acadblog/creating-custom-hatch-patterns/

Perhaps these will be helpful for anybody else who comes across this thread.

Buy Hatchkit. http://www.hatchkit.com.au/
It seems to be just as cryptic as the code but at least it is a visual creation of patterns.

Thanks Rob - we hope we are about to make it all a lot easier.

Today we are pleased to release a public beta of HatchKit 2014 for all interested to try and perhaps comment while we ready final release versions.
Link: http://www.hatchkit.com.au/hk2014betaofferform.php
HatchKit 2014 Beta will work alongside existing HatchKit installations.

HatchKit 2014 Beta works as a standalone application or will integrate with the HatchKit Add-In for Revit that is available from the Revit store at Autodesk Exchange.
Link: http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/RV...kitadd-in%3aen

The HatchKit Add-in for Revit allows large patterns exceeding the constraints on scale imposed by Revit's pattern import wizard to be loaded directly. HatchKit 2014 and the HatchKit Add-In for Revit work together to allow building a hatch pattern template (the entities repeated to for a pattern) within Revit, manage its passage to HatchKit for pattern arrangement and generation and, on return, bring the finished pattern into Revit for immediate use within the current project.

No DXF or PAT file handling is required.
