in ADT 05 I drag a 3d view into a sheet and it displays as the plan view. Any suggestions on how to create a 3d sheet? My inclination is that it has something to do w/ the ucs in the view. But how do I set up the view to xref isometric instead of plan view?

Are you looking to do an isometric drawing or perspective?
if you want an isometric, you need to set up a view looking at the drawing the way you want it do display on the sheet. Or, you can use the createhlr command to create a 2d block of your view.

I'm looking for the isometric view. I can get the "view" to appear isometric. I can print the view. But I'm trying to drag that view into a sheet. when I drag it onto the sheet it comes in as the plan or top view instead of the se iso view.

I could still use some help w/ an ISO sheet and view. I realize I have to set up an appropriate view, but In not sure how to change the ucs so the elevation view is actually giving me a true iso instead of the plan view again

In Layout Space, create a viewport and you should be able to change the view of just that viewport to the Iso that you want. This way you can have an Iso along with a plan if yo need to.
