We recently discovered that the railing extension balusters of our stair did not appear in plan in our 2013 project. We were able to display them in the past. So I imported a stair and railing from a 2012 warehouse file (upgraded to 2013) into our present project. Put them side to side and the 2012 project's railing extensions appear in plan and in 3D. Swapped out the railing in the stair that was created using the 2013 stair component for the 2012 railing that worked and it only appears in 3D, section elevation but not in plan. What the hell is going on????? Someone help us please. I've attached images that prove my findings.

I am also having issues with 2012 landings that show differently in plan than in 3D.

Does anyone know of a way to correctly upgrade stairs and railings from 2012 to 2013 or do these all need to be recreated?

It's a known bug. You'll need to create a null baluster (with no geometry) and assign it to the rail.
