In the midst of my "Distance Learning" rant, I started to think about some of the first times I started to use Revit, and how much it has changed. Change both in the way I use it, and in what it can do. I haven't been involved as long as some of you have, but dating back to the initial release of version 3. . .I think that pretty good. Do some of you guys remember those glitches, or problems?

Our biggest one was that there wasn't any core lines. Simply center, and outside face. And that made it impossible to make wall type or construction changes with out jackin your whole project.

I also remember the different way we handled problems like that. I haven't tried in a while (thanks to you guys), but do any of you guys remember Wai Chu? Is he still around. Not that I don't appreciate you guys, but it was nice to give him a call every once in a while and have him work out the problem right then and there. Is that even still available? To be able to call and talk to an Architect that knows Revit in and out? Anyway, Wai was cool. . . .heavy accent, and didn't get most of my jokes, but he was cool.

Just thought I would throw that out there. . .this might even belong in the "out there" forum, not sure. . .but there it is anyway. . . what are some of your first Reviting experiences. . . .Maybe our avatars should show what version was our first version to start with? Might be cool. . .

I talked to Wai a day or two ago. He probably can't understand your accent either

My first experience with Revit was modelling a heavy timber conference center, which is somewhere in the Revit gallery. Here's a link (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=5470)... <sniff> Such great memories... well, not entirely

Revit was ready for the real world starting at Revit 5, in my opinion...
