Showing Different Equipment Differently

So I'm working on a large project with lots of specialty equipment. A request came down to me to show certain pieces equipment as half-toned and certain pieces as black. Basically it would be great to split these into two types of categories with separate visibility controls.

Is there a good way of doing this? I'd really rather not to have to override graphics on each one of these items, as there are thousands.

Create subcategories under Specialty Equipment and use a different one for the families for each display requirement you have. You can have different display settings for each subcategory.

Since you might need the same piece of equipment shown both ways, I would opt for Filters.

A parameter or parameters combined with filters using it/them as criteria will afford you the most flexibility.
