I have loaded 2014 and have never had this issue with a linetype. My zig zag line is showing up as dots even when I print it. When I change the parameters of the linetype scale I get either longer or shorter dash lines. When I open it on another system, the zig zag line shows up just fine. I'm not sure where it is I need to go to get it to be visible as a zig zag. Thanks for the help.:?

That linetype references a shape file. When AutoCAD cannot find the shape file, it displays nothing where the shape goes, hence the spaces in your linetype.
(Did you review the command line history when you open that drawing? Any messages about a missing shape file?)
Find your ACAD.LIN (or ACADISO.LIN) file by pasting this to the AutoCAD command prompt
(startapp "notepad" (findfile "acad.lin"))
...then find the linetype definition in that file to see what shape file (???.SHX) it requires.
Then find that shape file on your system.
Then figure out why the location of that shape file is not in your support file search path -or- copy the shape file to a location that IS in your support file search path.

Thanks R.K. I kind of thought that was the issue. I'm on it.

After finding the location of both files acad.lin and ltypeshp.shx, I found that my support path to ltypeshp.sxh was not there. After adding it, my zig zag lines became visible. I appreciate your help.
