Having a problem with autocad not saving my support file search path.

Everytime i try and apply the path and go to custom hatch it locks up, gives me the blue donut and eventually boots me out.

It won't save the path permanently. have tried opening autocad, adding the path, choosing apply, exiting out and restarting autocad.
path is not there.

any help would be appreciated.

Do you have full access rights on this computer?
Or has your IT department restricted your rights?

We're a small 6 person office, no IT dept. and as far as I know I have full rights.
It's worked in the past on versions 2012 and 2013, and it worked on 2014 when i first installed.
Should i move that folder onto my local machine?

It sounds like a pathing problem, not a hatching problem.
If the custom hatches are in a folder on a server then I would (as a test) copy that folder to the local machine and add the path but, from what you have said, I don't think that will solve the problem.

[I don't have 2014 but I doubt that there is a major difference there - others may know differently.]

Possible it has to do with the security features added in 2014? I turned em all off so I wouldn't have to mess with them.

@Coloradomrg.....where do i find those features....did a search and was unable to locate anything.

rmk,
The new system variables are:

SAFEMODE
SECURELOAD
TRUSTEDDOMAINS
TRUSTEDPATHS

I have no idea if they are related to your issue or not since I don't use many hatches, we just use the ootb ones. It's where I might start my trouble shooting though.

Good luck!
