Hi! I am working on a project using Autodesk Revit Arch. 2013 and would like to use a 3D model created by someone that is working with Autodesk Inventor. What file format will work between both pieces of software? I would like to bring the inventor 3d model into Revit.

Thanks!
Rob

I believe you need to convert the file to something revit can recognize. I don't play with inventor, but I we've done some work with files created from it. My short answer guess would be to export the inventor file to a DWG, Sat or adsk file and import it into revit. It's going to kill your performance, but that's the only way I can think of.
Hope it helps.

David,

Thank you! I will let you know how it works out. I requested the same file formats.

Thanks again,
Rob

Theres a wizard to create an adsk file and i think you can also manage the level of detail.

Thank you! I will look for the wizard and see if I can control the detail.

Thanks again,
