Any ideas on what will be 'new and improved'? I love the feeling of anticipation!

Sounds like Revit Structural - a separate program. The first API based on .Net for developers.
How does paying the fee tie into the release date? You get a year's worth of upgrades anyway. And if you didn't buy out, your license will lapse...

I really wish they wouldn't branch out with the different flavours of Revit just yet (though it's a good idea).
I'd rather see them change the rendering engine (if they're going to) and work on the speed at which Revit processes information first.

yes, but there is too much market pressure to develop other disciplines. Many would use Revit, if their structural and MEP engineers could use it, too.
Many have the thought that they have to stick with AutoCAD because their consultants use it. A solution that allows Revit to work for varied disciplines will really move Revit to the front of the pack, providing even more revenue for further development.
My reseller is already stating that Revit sales are huge, and they can't get enough training classes scheduled....adding the other disciplines will just cause Revit to grow that much more quickly.

As nice as it would be to have a well-developed and powerful rendering capability, I think that the vast majority of projects done in Revit don't or won't take advantage of it...either because the project does not call for that level or the schedule of the project limits it, etc. I think most projects can be adequately rendered with what is already in place...and anything above and beyond that may call for VIZ or whatever you choose. I think first priority should be coordination with other disciplines, since this seems to be near the top of the list of reasons most give for not moving to a BIM package. I think if Revit can bring out these packages and they integrate well and provide what is demanded, it has the potential for being the industry leader and standard as AutoCAD was for 2D CADD. Rendering capabilities should continually be tweaked in each release, though.

And, if you signed up during a special offer period, that pricing will lapse with your subscription. You will have to repurchase your subscription at the full price.
