I am working on a rendering with exposed wood floor joists that are visible from the floor below. The wood grain of the joists should run the length of the board; however when the structural framing families join with adjacent joists the orientation of the wood grain seems to rotate 90 degrees in a somewhat unpredictable way. I have also seen the material rotation flip when the element is copied to a different location. I have experience this when mirroring elements, but this behavior is quite unpredictable. Does anybody know a work around or a strategy to lock the orientation of the wood grain on the structural framing family when rendered?
