Sorry if this is the wrong area for this post. Please direct me if there is a better place.

I'm creating searchable text in a PDF. We use the latest Bluebeam software. I've altered the PDF to DWG driver to include all fonts. The entire drawing has been changed to a TTF (arial). When I create the PDF file, only text from Paperspace is searchable. Any text in the model space (the viewport) in the PDF is not searched. (In Bluebeam, it greys out any unsearcable text, the viewport, or model space, is greyed out)

I've closed the file, AuotCAD, Bluebeam after making the changes and nothing seems to help. It's creating searchable text, but only in what the dwg file has a paperspace. I'm at a loss for where to go. Any help is always appreciated.

Thanks,

The viewport is a VIEW of what is in modelspace.... not seen as individual objects by PDF creators or AutoCAD for that matter. We used to use a different program that did the exact same thing.

You can contact Bluebeam tech support to see if they have any tips.

When I print to PDF (from a layout) using the built in DWG-to-PDF.PC3 file, all of the TTF text (model space and the layout) is "searchable" while viewing the PDF in Acrobat Reader.

First off, thanks everyone for your repsonses! Much appreciated!

coloradomrg - your thought is exaclty what i was thinking....its a view or in pdf terms a graphic and not searchable

Ed Jobe - already on that, but as of now....nothing

rkmcswain - you said the key term that I have NOT tried....Acrobat Reader

I'll let all know what i come to find, again,
