Hello All,

For my current project, I'm required to fill out OmniClass Numbers for a specific classification of content. Now when I looked up the latest OmniClass Table 23 (http://www.omniclass.org/), it is different then the table that is available within Revit. For example Coat Hooks. Online the value should be 23.21.15.19.13. In Revit it is 23.40.20.11.21.21. I would think that the one from the website is the most up to date, but why the discrepancy? I understand having new items, with new numbers. But for existing items, why change them? What makes it worse is if the OmniClass number value is different for similar family types, I am forced to have duplicate families, since we can not change this value per type.

Now, "IF" there is a review of my model, and these inconsistencies come to light, how will I change these values w/o modifying the file on my workstation, which will be then different from the guy sitting across from me.

Rant over for now.

Thanks,
Jeff S.

...Jeff, You are the only architect on this planet using OmniClass...Not true, but one that is paying attention. Should I mention that there is no OmniClass parameter for system families like walls, rooms, floors etc? Considerable oversight in the grand scheme.

Mike,

1. Not an architect. Architectural Technician/Laboratory Planner 2. Required by client, which is why I said, 'For my current project'.

So, after a long day of beating my head against my work surface, there is still no help for my predicament.
