polygonal viewports

We tried the polygonal viewport in R2014 and put the view on sheets. Things worked OK as long as the sketch lines were orthogonal. N-S or E-W. When we added a diagonal, the file size skyrocketed! We substituted a stair-step for the straight diagonal and the file size went back to reasonable.

Anyone seen this behavior?

Have heard some similar complaints, plot size/time too for sheets with those views on them.

Considering it's just a big Masking Region it make sense. We are still staying away from those until ADSK gives us a real solution.

Guess we should forget circles!Can't actually draw a circle, not a true circle anyway. You can draw a polygon with up to a maximum of 36 segments to look like a circle though.

I tried that already. What I didn't notice was the effect on file size.

The first CAD program I learned, way back in 1984, couldn't do true circles, so we had to approximate them with multi-faceted polygons.
