I started working for a new firm last spring. I was assigned the responsibility of creating our template files. I have been working on them whenever I have had some spare time and am close to finishing them. My boss has asked me to document all of the changes that I have made to the default templates. There have probably been hundreds of changes and tweaks that have been made. Is there any way to export the current settings for object styles, view templates, line types, line weights, line patterns, fill patterns, etc. etc. etc.? I don't have programming experience so I can't tackle this via the API or other database file manipulation strategies. I guess that I could open the dialog boxes and pop-up windows for all of the various settings and print out screen captures but that will involve a lot more work than simply exporting the settings. So, is exporting possible or not?

Not directly, no. You could try starting a new project without defining a template (other than Imperial vs. Metric), then Transfer Project Standards. The checklist that comes up will list all the items that could be transferred, so you could get a pretty good list from that. Otherwise, you're pretty much stuck going through and "showing your work" for lack of a better term.

I was pretty sure that there wasn't any easy way. However, some of the real power users on this forum seem to have an intuitive feel for figuring out truly inspired work-arounds for things like this, so I figured that I would ask. Thanks for the response.
