Hello,

I am working on a project where I need to model joists on a sloped roof. The architect wants the joists to join correctly in section and also look accurate in plan, but when I have them shown right in my section the linework in my floor plans is off. Is there a way to manuever 1 and not the other to achieve the right look in both drawings?

I'm not sure what your issue is. Check the family. I believe the OOTB content has a symbolic line for the bottom chord of the joist. If the joist is slopped, you'll see the top chord line overlapping the bottom chord line, which makes it look like a continuous line. Is that what you're referring to? The other issue might be your cut plane and view depth. It needs to include the extent of the top and bottom chord.

The only thing I don't think you can accomplish (someone may have corrected it by now) is to get the set to sit flush on the beam top flange.

Hope this helps.
