Planting

Hi, Im using revit 2014, and when I add some trees, those plants come into the drawing as lifelike and slow down the model dramatically. When I was using 2012 the planting was represented in a very basic way until it was rendered, and didn't slow down the model. Is there anyway of controlling this?

Probably you have visual style set to realistic. Change it to shaded or hidden line.

Where did you get your trees from? Do you know what's inside each tree? Do they have 50,000 leaves? I've seen that happen. Are shadows on? 50,000 shadows for 50,000 leaves. That would slow anyone down.
