Model Family VG

I have created a family (a shower base) using an extrusion, void, and sweep. When I section through this model in my project it only shows up as a solid rectangular mass with none of the modeled shapes (generally a it is a U shape, extended lips surrounding a sloped base) and therefore does not read as I would like it to. I have solved my problem by just using modeling lines and sketching the front and side appearances I want, but does anyone know - does Revit not show a families shape in section? If it matters it is a Plumbing Fixture family. Thanks.

Can you post the family?

Some family categories are cut-able, some are not. I think Plumbing Fixtures are not, and will show the extents of the geometry modeled in a section view.

Your approach of using model lines is appropriate.
