Hi there,
I'm new to fairly new to Autocad. I'm having some problem tryign to plot a cad drawing in black and white. I've tried checking the 'monochrome' option in the plot style table but the drawing comes out with the coloured layers. It's very frustrating as I've been trying to sort it out for hours. If sb can give me some step by step advice, that would be much appreciate. Thank you.

First question: Are you using ACI (aka numbered colors) or TrueColor colors?
Second question: Does the 'monochrome' file have an STB or CTB extension?

Thanks, I've just figure out what the problem was. The colours were True colours and the monochrome.ctb doesn't control that. :) yupii
That is correct. CTB plot styles cannot control True Color assigned objects. You would need to either convert them to their ACI equivalent, make the printer print in grey scale, or convert to Named Plot Style based printing.

Autocad plots in colors, even when specifying monochrome or greyscale.
I could not get a pdf, etc, to plot in black & white. I am working with a dwg exported from a client's non-autocad drafting program.
Solution: In Layer Properties Manager, i found that when i chose a layer's color, it was a 'True Color'. I picked the offending layer's color, which opened the 'True Color' Tab in the "Select Color" box. I chose the Index Color Tab, and assigned an ACI color to that layer. After saving, i was able to plot in black & white.
