Please bear with me, as I am a new Revit user. I took a Revit course in 2009 but haven't really used it since.

I am banging my head against my desk trying to figure out why I cannot simply sketch a floor in my model.

I have a linked model (architectural) and am drawing in the structure. I have my footings and columns modeled, but when I click the floor icon the "draw" sub category doesn't appear. (see attached picture)

What am I doing wrong? I cannot select boundaries by walls as those are in the linked model... unless there is a way to do that too?

it's just not the floor; the same thing happens when I try to draw a foundation wall.

Thanks in advance for the help!

It appears that your ribbon has fouled itself up somehow and the DRAW panel is no longer visible.
You can reset the ribbon to defaults by closing Revit and deleting the UISTATE.dat file

I deleted the .dat file and reopened Revit, however it is now showing a dimension panel instead of the link panel. Still no 'draw' panel. I must be doing something else wrong... See atttached.

Thanks for the help!

I installed the Update Release 3 and that seemed to do the trick (for now)! Thanks.
