I'm trying to install Update 2, and after executing the file it says "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: Z:\"
Z: is our file server that all machines have mapped on them. I have tried copying the file to my desktop and running it locally, but I still get the same error.
Any ideas?

Have you tried running the update as "administrator"? I seem to recall this being a permissions issue caused by a confused windows installer.

Pull the network plug out while updating. Worked for us. (Same issue with 3DS Max.)

Tried running as Administrator.
Tried removing network cable.
Checked registry according to this link, found no issue: http://blogs.rand.com/support/2012/02/error-1327-unknown-drive-letter-ie-u-f-etcduring-install-uninstall.html
Tried turning off UAC according to this link: http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/02/autocad-architecture-2012-error-1327-invalid-drive-s.html
Tried doing all those things above while logged into my local machine, AND also while logged into the domain.
Nothing has worked. Still get the same "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: Z:\" every time. Corrupted EXE file perhaps?

I tried downloading the file again from Autodesk directly to my desktop. Same error about Invalid Drive Z:.
Also tried downloading the file directly to the server, through the server itself via remote desktop. I saved the file on the server in our shared Downloads folder which is the X: drive, yet still the same error about Invalid Drive Z:\.
I suppose the next step would be to download the file again directly to my machine, shut down, unplug the network cable, boot back up and log into the computer itself (not the domain) and see what happens. That way there should be no sign of any Z: drive anywhere so we'll see.

Tried again via local login and network cable unplugged. No dice, still the same error about Invalid Drive Z:\ what the heck??

Unmap drive Z..(disconnect)...when you reboot it should come back again...

The drive is mapped automatically via a login script that runs when I log into the domain on the machine.
I opened a support request about it. They told me I will have to uninstall Revit 2014 and then completely reinstall with the update combined into the installation. That SUCKS!

That is why I said it would come back when you reboot or run the netlogon script...
I would detaching it first before trying to uninstall and reinstall....

Uninstalled Revit 2014 and reinstalled with the Service Pack included. Worked fine, now I'm up to date.
