demo view & borrowing problem

We installed a demo viewer on a laptop to use in our conference room with clients. Yesterday the central file was opened on the laptop (i now know this is a "no no". Now the local files show the laptop as a borrower even though it is not on. My question is that since the laptop cannot save (due to only having the viewer) how do we relinquish the borrowed views?

Change the user name on another system. Open the file. Save an relenquish. Close file. Change user name back.

Even though you can't save on the laptop, you can change permissions in the central file (as you have demonstrated). Open the file on the laptop and relinquish everything. This will change permissions in the central file immediately without your having to save.
