So, let's say you're passing a budget request up the chain of command and you'd like to budget some funds for Revit add-ins. Your firm does Architectural work and Structural work. Currently your seats of Revit are being run straight OOTB so well developed families as well as structural programs are viable- so long as they help Revit get the job done.

What products would you request to purchase?

What types of projects does your firm work in? You said Arch & Structural. But do you do retail, healthcare, academic, single family, multifamily, mixed use, industrial, warehouse, corporate office space, facilities management? Are you looking to do renderings? Are you thinking of connecting the model to a database for model verification/population? I would work on developing your firms 'Standard Project Template' prior to going out and purchasing a bunch of add-ons. Because once you get your template setup to a high level, it will help identify where you feel you need supplemental software.

If you're doing any sort of Excel linking, either Ideate BIMLink or CTC's Revit Express Tools Suite for round tripping the data. I have evaluated both, and have likes/dislikes for each.

Cheers,
