When editing a group you may get the following error...

"Can't make changes to Group "My Group" with more than one instance. To resolve: Ungroup and Group again under a new name. Edit and make change, then change all instances of the original Group to the New Group."

Ungrouping a group is about as bad as exploding a hatch pattern in AutoCAD. You just don't want to do it. The suggestion provided by this dialog isn't much help either. The process is tedious to say the least.

A better solution is as follows.
Select the object your were working with a use the Edit/Cut command <ctrl-x>. This will delete the offending object from the group and place it on the clipboard. Finish editing the group. Use the Edit/Paste Aligned/Paste Same Place option to put the offending object back in the project.

You can now edit the object without it affecting the group. When you have completed the object, return to editing the group and add the newly edited object back into the group. Everything should be fine now. (Works most of the time...)
