Making surround around curtain wall glazing

I'm helping out a company wit ha revit model and one of the issue's we're having it how to get a surround done around a cartain wall system. I've attached a screen shot of the curtain system where we want the surround and a cad detail (plan view) we want to create around the curtain walling.

One option: In the Curtain System type parameters, you have the ability to change the border mullion types. You could consider the mullion+surround profile as a single profile.

I had a stab at doing that but I might have used the wrong family type to create it. In saying that, after working on a different family yesterday, I need to make up the profile first and then nest it into a mullion family. Can you tell me which is the best suited family template to use for the profile (Generic Profile, or Hosted Profile?) and for the mullion I have Profile Mullion.

Anyone able to shed some light on how exactly to model this up?

I've used Metric Profile-Mullion to make a profile, once inserted into the model it's not placing right at all, on end profiles its shifting in wards while on intermediate profiles it is positioned correctly on the grid line. In either case the mullion is also setback 50mm from the face of the normal mullions, despite me moving it forward 50mm in the family.
