Tag All Pipes without tagging vertical pipes?

Hello all,

I am trying to tag all horizontal pipes for our Fire Protection Drawing.

Is there a way to not tag vertical pipes?

I thought about making a visibility filter, I am unable to find a way to filter just the vertical pipes.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for the delay of response!

I don't believe that there is any good way to accomplish this. The best way I can immediately think of is to select all of the Piping in the Plan View, switch to a Section or Elevation View that shows all the Piping, deselect the vertical Pipes with shift + crossing-selection-window (click and drag right to left), and then navigating back to the Plan View.

Sounds like a good candidate for using the API!

Similar to Corey's advice, isolate lateral pipes in a 3d view, switch to plan, use Tag All and leave the selected elements option active to tag just selected pipes in the view.
