Connecting Walls to Linked Model Roof

Is there any way to connect a wall in a core or interior Revit model to a linked (Shell) Revit model roof? Also what about joining walls (like furring) to a linked Revit model?

No, walls will not cleanup through a link file.

easiest way is a reference plane, align to underside of roof (name it appropriately) and then attach your walls to the plane.

So I assume if I have a wall with a door or window in a linked model and I want to fur the wall I will need to make openings in the furred wall since I won't be able to join geometry?
