Any way in doing a angular dimension greater than 180°

There is no way that I have found. Can you elaborate on why you need to be able to do this?

There is a way, I have found it here in AUGI.
It has something to do with your options on the command line while you're dimensioning, I beleve VERTEX is the first pick.

I will try to find the post(s) and get back to you.

Found it:

And discussed here too:

Unfortunately Corey is correct, afaik it's impossible. Ted's solution applies to Acad, not Revit :(

IIRC the reason is that any angle that exceeds 180 degrees can be better described with the resulting smaller acute angle value, better meaning a more practical value for the end user, in construction or fabrication. If it really must be done it can be drafted with lines and text. I can't recall needing to do so in the last decade though I have been asked if it is possible a few times over the years.

Sorry about that.. didn't look what platform we were talking about.... just assumed AutoCAD. :banghead:

Too bad it can't be done in Revit.

Here is one of probably many workarounds:

Draw an arc first...
Make the arc degree dimension permanent...
Then draw your two angled lines...
Change the arc linestyle to something that is white...

CADastrophe, there is a reason for my madness. I was trying to verify that the shadows created by Revit matched the longitude/latitude and azimuth for the particular site I was working with. Something didn't appear right, so I just wanted to "double" check the azimuth (degree) with my 9am, 12pm & 3pm shadows.

For the over 180° I added 3x angular dimensions to work out the total, just thought there was an "easier" way :-(

David: I'll give that a go, cheers..
