What is the best way to build a stacked roof. I have attached cad file of what I am trying to build. I don't want to build the detail but the roof in revit so it shows correctly in section
Thanks,

Much like building your walls as stacked elements, in the "structure" part of the element properties, you can add the thicknesses and individual layers. Not sure for insulation you may need to load a profile (similar to metal deck profile for bondek to show properly for example in a slab)
Simply put, edit the properties, click on the "structure" and edit it to suit your layers of elements 15mm plasterboard/120mm insulation/15mm whatever....etc etc

Craig, I think Chad is talking about the overhang being different from the main roof, 2x12 rafters vs. 2x6 overhang??? In this case, I always use two roofs, main roof that stops at the exterior face of the wall and the other for the overhang.
You can even make the overhang overlap the main roof and when you join them together, overhang will cut away the part of the main roof so the section view is correct showing overlap and in the elevation view the seam is not visible (…well, you need to join the roofs regardless of the overlap, though).
I’m working on a very similar project right now. The only difference is that I have exposed rafter tails (no soffit). I’m using two roofs for that and for the overhang exposed rafters I’m using Rafter Framing extension – works like a charm.

Craig, I have tried this but the siding of my walls don't trim with the rest of the wall since it is below the out roof. How are you dealing with this? Do you have a revit file I can look at as an example?

Chad,
Are you using TJI's as your main roof framing, and then having 2x6's coming off as the overhang? Could you use two layers of framing in your roof system, and then "Create Parts" the roof in section? Might be more effort than it's worth, but it is another way to accomplish what you're after. My other thought was to have the roof as the 2x6 framing member, then have a ceiling make up the difference. Finally you would join the roof and the ceiling together.
