I have to create the following detail as shown in the supplied sketch.
The first radius is 0.125" and the second is 0.50".

Can this be done somehow by not having to use the trim command???
If I perform the filletrad outright, I lose the dashed line shown at the top.
To prevent that from happening, I have to trim out a line segment after
creating the first radius. This is suppose to be a notch in the side of a part.
Is there a better way to do this???

Why not draw it as you've been doing, but set the Edgemode option in Trim to "extend". That way you can go in and trim the .125 radius in two parts, and you shouldn't lose the vertical line.

Either that or I don't understand the problem...

In order to keep the vertical line while adding the fillet, start the fillet command, invoke the Trim option, then select "No Trim"

...I hope I understood the question correctly...

Seems like that would work, however it leaves a gap between the two radii?
I also need the line trimmed out inside the radius, but I can trim that out later.

I guess I am not sure what is being filleted, any chance of another screen shot or two from before you filleted and trimmed to get an idea of your workflow?

Here is a Cad file showing the required notch detail,
what I start with, and where I end up.
