How to have a "Not used " door in your model/door schedule?
I have a Room Number 102 that has no doors. The schedule skipped 102 and went to 103.(logically). But for that poor guy bidding the door package who asks "where is door 102?" is it possible to have a "not used " door?
(Forgive me if this has already been discussed--did search and didn't find anything--)

When you write out the door schedule, only inserted doors with their respective door # will be written out. If skipped, & not inserted, the door associated with tag #102 will not be written to the schedule. Door #'s are not tied to room #'s, unless you manually change your door tag #'s to match the room #'s.

Go to the wishlist forum, and read the thread by Steve Stafford on this subject.

By no doors I assume you mean that there are no new doors, otherwise it will be difficult to get into room 102 :D .

Right now it is up to the user to number a door using the room number as THE number or as a basis for a number like 102A, 102B if there were more than one door for the room.

Generally, in renovation work I'd only schedule new doors and those numbers may not be sequential leaving gaps. This is "okay" with me and a note added to the sheet below the schedule to clarify what rooms have no door work might be sufficient if it were not "okay".

The Room 102 is an open Lobby--entered from Vestibule 100 and its
corresponding doors. I'm looking for a way to make a "ghost" door that could be door 102--and have the schedule label it "not used"--a stretch, I know, but this is just a "normal" part of developing documents. It does make a great deal of sense to keep door numbers corresponding to their room numbers--you don't have to--but why not just do it this way? I'd have to have a strong reason not to.
While on the subject, I noticed another strange phenomenon regarding
rooms/doors and schedules: When tagging Room Names, the tag I am using has "Arctic" font, a fairly good "architectural" typeface--except that the 1's tend to run togetherand become illegible. So I edited the text inside the tag by putting a space between the 1's--i.e. 111 became 1 1 1--this changes the schedule! It reads 1 1 1 as "1 space 1 space 1" and not 111. So we'll change our font, and all should be well. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if there is a workaround? A small thing--but as some famous person said: "God is in the details"
Cheers....

We have a similar situation when doors are removed during construction.

We created a generic model, changed to a Door family so that it was not wall hosted.

Made a simple extrusion, put on object style that could be hidden in view templates.

Placed the family in the model - the level can be selected.

We set a level offset to carry it above any views in the project - where we will have our graveyard. Door shows up in schedule, on the right level - we use comments, so the comment was "DOOR NOT USED." This is a new approach, but seems to work.

After construction phase - for record drawings - we will select all, then delete them.

Unfortunately Revit cannot schedule if the door is not in the model. I would suggest make a empty door family exclusively for the not used numbers and schedule them out as usual and add a comment parameter with 'not used' comment within the empty door family.
