Hi there.
I'm an architectural designer who's going to be designing a free form roof, much like the one at this link:

http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Freeform-Roof-in-Revit

I've been asked if there's a way to create a structural system that would conform itself to a roof like this. Any thoughts?

TIA

My suggestion would be to try incorporating "adaptive points" into a framing family, and use a model line to set the path for the framing.
Take a look at the tutorials on "adaptive points", I think this would be the best method, you would need to set a profile line on the elevation (underside of roof) would have to be done in a few steps, but I think would work.
Otherwise its frame each segment along a grid, which isnt all that hard either....I dont know how you intend to frame that roof, are you intending on using hot rolled sections formed to the shape or something?
