View Full Version : AutoCAD loading "junk"

When I open or insert some drawings, I see this:

Loading AEC Base...
Loading AEC Project Base...
Loading AEC Schedule Data...
Loading AEC Architectural Base...
Loading ABS Base...
Loading Modeler DLLs.

I am running straight AutoCAD. The drawing I'm opening is a 2D detail, not generated in ADT or ABS. So, why is it loading all this junk? It takes forever (relatively speaking, of course!).

Can this info be "purged"? Is it tied to certain objects? Can I find out which objects?

Thanks.

Are there any blocks in the drawing that were created in ADT?

Hi

Check out the following Technical Documents on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -

ID: TS68773 - Proxy warnings about AECARCHBASE.* and AEC*.* files (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2889527&linkID=2475323)

ID: TS79478 - Save as R12 DXF format from AutoCADĀ® (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=3067231&linkID=2475323)

Maybe take a look at the Command Line version of Purge -

Command: ._-Purge

Enter type of unused objects to purge
Regapps/All]:

AutoCAD Layer Filter and APP ID Purge Tool (http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2004/12/layer_filter_an.html)

Have a good one, Mike
