I do not recall ever seeing a discussion about using multiple processors for renderings in Revit. Yes, I know about the cloud. I'm interested in what capability I already might have.
Any thoughts?

Rendering in revit with my i7 using all 8 cores. I know that's different that multiple processors, but I believe it should be able to use everything you can throw at it.
I did a test a while back with a pair of Xeon's and according to the little system monitor, they were both being pushed at 100%. Very little usage of the graphics card.
Have you looked into Lumion at all? You can get some nice clean looking images rather quickly. Others in our office are using it. I haven't played with it yet. I know it works great for sketchup stuff.

Preprocessing will utilize a single core, but the actual rendering will use all of the cores. This is especially noteworthy if you are using Citrix, VMware or MS RDP.
