I am on a computer licensed with ACA 2014. Other individuals in my firm working on the same project are working on ACA 2012. We are all working through the project navigator. When I create a sheet and someone else tries to edit it later, they can draw but they cannot note or add tool palette content. I have set my settings to automatically save down to 2010. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

The problem is that everyone working on the project needs to be working with ACA versions using the same file format. You either need to use 2012 or everyone else needs to upgrade to 2014. As you've found out; by saving drawings down to the 2010 version you are making them incapable of having ACA content added to them or to have that content modified. ACA content is not capable of being saved to an earlier version so all those working on your drawings are encountering future version entities, and to protect those entities Autodesk disables all ACA tools. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

To add to the reply, ACA has typically followed a 3 release update to the drawing format so whilst within that 3 years, you could work on the same file, there may be items that can't be edited by earlier releases.
So the current aec drawing format is 2013, 14 and 15 and I would expect 2016 version to be a new format and run for 3 years. Anyone using these versions can read each others files though 13 may not read everything correctly (ie updates to MText for eg.).
Prior to that (2010,11 and 12), and (2007,08 and 09), and (2004,05 and 06), and (2002, 03, 04) I think, were all the same format and could read within the same version.
ACA or ADT back then could never save an aec editible file back to an earlier format, only to an ACAD editable file.

So basically you need to stick within the same 3 year range. As 12 is the final in the series of 3, you can either go back to 12 or they can upgrade. Because Adesk doesn't sell older product they would need to update to 15 however if they are on sub, they can then use 14 or 13 but why would they (apart from 15 being a little buggy).
