Hi,
I'm trying to build a p trap into a laundry tub. Is it possible to align a sweep to a reference line, so I can rotate it along the z-axis?
Essentially, I'm looking to have the path of the sweep on a YZ-plane, and use a parameter associated reference line to rotate the drain on the Z-axis along the tailpiece. This would allow left and right offsets and a straight through the wall option in a single family.
I've used visibilities with on/off parameters to cheat, when the drain connector can retain the same orientation. In this case, however, the connector would point in different directions.
I would rather not use a nested family, if at all possible, as that breaks our color-by-system game that we play.
I'm attaching an image that should get the idea across.
Any and all ideas are appreciated.
Thank you,
Don

Have you tried using a horizontal reference plane and an angular dimension parameter for the sweep path
