looking for the quick easy to bob the end of beam for roof slope

I haven't done this for a long time and can't remember how it's done.
I need to bob off the end of a ceiling beam where it projects out of the roof.

A reference plane, and then cut the beam to the plane should do the job for you. If you want a nice clean long face you will need to project the beam so all of it extends past the reference plane, otherwise you will end up with a cut face and the saw cut face at the end also...
